Coffee In Milan
This time last year, I visited the motherlands for the first time. Roadtrippin’ from the Venice airport, to the Dolomites, to Lake Como, to Milan, through Genoa, to Tuscany, Florence, & back to Venice. Each of these areas offered a different taste of the experience, some of which I favored above the others (primarily whatever experiences felt the least touristy, as usual). But my time spent in Italy, as a whole, was incredibly inspiring and creatively stimulating.
The intricate details & age to the buildings, the dedicated craftsmanship of a woodworker who brought us into his home workshop & showed us his process , the extensive knowledge and multi-lingual charisma of a 14 year old girl who was without a doubt more intelligent & mature than me. The remarkably pure flavors of the food.
“COFFEE IN MILAN” is, obviously, a piece born in reflection of my time spent in Italy. although not directly related to an experience I had there, but subconsciously, the “coffee theme” and a woman in a red dress has emerged in my works a few times since.
Original painting, 1-of-1. Acrylic on 24x24” hand-built wood panel canvas with dimensional features
This piece is #17 out of 20 for the 24x24” collection of 2024.
